Eastern Suffolk BOCES (ESB) is a regional educational service agency supporting more than 70 school districts across New York State. Their legacy BOCES Assessment Reporting System (BARS), a suite of Crystal Reports tracking seven years of state assessment and Regents Exam data, provided valuable historical insights but lacked interactivity, customization, and integration with other data sources.
Recognizing the need for a modern, flexible, and scalable solution, ESB sought to update BARS while preserving access to historical data, enabling district-specific customization, integrating third-party and student information system (SIS) data, and supporting the diverse needs of multiple districts, including Big 5 districts such as Syracuse.
To achieve these goals, ESB partnered with Mindex, leveraging their expertise in data analytics to deliver a future-ready, scalable reporting platform tailored to district needs.
Years of collaboration through our SchoolTool Student Management System and other services, including cloud migrations and analytics support, had shown our deep understanding of their operational needs and the complexities of state mandated data and reporting requirements.
ESB leveraged our Advanced Analytics platform to deliver a scalable, reliable solution built on this history of trust and expertise. As an AWS Advanced Tier Partner with Data Analytics Certification, Mindex maintains a long-standing relationship with the Amazon QuickSight team, ensuring ESB benefits from the latest analytics capabilities and a future-ready platform.
