For Ironhorse Funding, delivering exceptional service to their customers is a top priority. Their leadership understands that great customer experiences are supported by strong, well-managed technology behind the scenes.
As their AWS environment continued to grow, Ironhorse took a proactive approach to evaluating and optimizing their cloud infrastructure. Their goal was not just to manage costs, but to ensure their environment remained efficient, organized, and ready to support future innovation.
To support this initiative, Ironhorse partnered with Mindex to evaluate and optimize their AWS storage.
As part of normal growth, Ironhorse’s AWS footprint expanded over time. Resources such as Amazon Machine Images (AMIs), EBS snapshots, and backup assets accumulated as systems evolved and changed.
This is common in mature cloud environments, and periodic review helps organizations:
✔️ Maintain visibility into active resources
✔️ Improve overall organization
✔️ Ensure environments remain efficient and scalable
Ironhorse took a proactive approach to reviewing their environment and identifying opportunities for optimization.
Mindex led a structured evaluation of Ironhorse’s AWS environment, identifying opportunities to improve storage efficiency, enhance visibility, and modernize backup and retention processes.
Mindex conducted a comprehensive review of Ironhorse’s AWS environment to identify storage no longer tied to active workloads.
Each resource was validated before removal. Unused AMIs and EBS snapshots were eliminated to reduce unnecessary storage usage.
With outdated assets removed, Ironhorse gained clearer visibility into active infrastructure and a more organized environment.
Following the engagement, Ironhorse achieved:
Measurable reductions in AWS storage costs, contributing to significant annual savings
Enhanced backup and retention processes
Improved visibility and monitoring across their environment
A more streamlined and manageable cloud infrastructure
These improvements contributed to an estimated 20% year-over-year savings, driven by overall optimization of storage and backup processes.
Today, Ironhorse operates with a cleaner and more efficient AWS environment that supports continued growth. With improved organization, visibility, and monitoring in place, their team can move faster, make informed decisions, and scale with confidence.
This proactive approach reflects Ironhorse’s ongoing commitment to operational excellence and delivering high-quality service to their customers.
