SchoolTool New York State Updates: We've Got the Empire State Covered!

In the ever-evolving landscape of New York State educational requirements, staying ahead means adapting quickly. At SchoolTool, we pride ourselves on being proactive in responding to changes in New York State's educational policies and reporting standards. In fact, our management system was designed specifically for New York State schools, so it’s our bread and butter.

With our latest release, 21.3-R3, we're excited to announce several updates tailored specifically to meet the needs of schools across the Empire State. Ready to dive in?

NYS ADV Assessments

One of the key updates in our latest release involves NYS ADV Assessments. As part of our commitment to compliance with New York State's reporting requirements, we have incorporated a new assessment type mandated by the state. This ensures that our platform remains up-to-date and accurate in reporting student assessment data, reflecting the latest standards set by NYS.

Updates to Student Restraint/Physical Intervention Tracking

Tracking student restraint and physical interventions is critical for maintaining a safe and accountable school environment. In response to feedback and requirements from New York State, we have expanded our capabilities in this area. Now, in addition to Discipline Referrals, Classroom Incidents can also track student restraint and physical intervention incidents. Furthermore, we have enhanced our data fields to enable districts to capture and report necessary information accurately to NYS.

NYS Data Warehouse Extract for Student Restraints/Physical Interventions

A significant addition to our latest release is the introduction of a new Data Warehouse extract specifically for Student Restraint Events. This extract is designed to support New York State's reporting requirements related to student restraints and physical interventions. By implementing this feature, we ensure that districts using SchoolTool can seamlessly comply with the state's data reporting mandates, facilitating transparency and accountability.

Looking Ahead

As we move forward, SchoolTool remains dedicated to anticipating and responding to the evolving needs of New York State's educational landscape. Our team is continually engaged in refining our SMS to ensure that it not only meets but exceeds the expectations of our users in compliance, functionality, and ease of use.
